An access card or tag identifies a driver when charging. If you manage both the charger and the client or fleet contract, you can register one card yourself by presenting it to your charger and assigning the rejected authorisation to the correct driver.
What you need
- Access to the merchant contract or charging location that contains the charger.
- Access to the client or fleet contract that contains the intended driver.
- The driver must already exist. If necessary, add the driver first.
Add and assign one card
- Present the unassigned access card or tag to a charger that you manage. Because the card is not yet known, charging normally does not start. This rejected attempt creates the record needed for assignment.
- In the portal, switch to the role for the relevant merchant contract or charging location.
- Open Tag authorizations. If the attempt is older, select All Time in the top-right filter.
- Find the rejected attempt by its time, location and masked card identifier. Check that it is the card you just presented; never assign an unknown visitor's attempt.
- In the first column, select the blue action for changing the card owner.
- In Assign unknown card, select the driver. The portal then offers the accessible client contract.
- Enter a clear card name in Title.
- Choose the appropriate Token purpose. A paid-charging card can be used at chargers with paid and free tariffs; a free-charging card is intended only for free tariffs or a driver with a 100% discount.
- Optionally set an expiry date and associate a car, then select Save.
- Present the card again to confirm that the system recognises the assigned driver.
Change the driver of an existing card
If the card is already registered in the client contract, open the client role and use Access cards (the portal may still call this menu RFID cards) to change its driver. If the card belongs to another contract and the portal blocks the change, do not create a duplicate; contact support with both contract references, the intended driver and the card identifier.
Import several cards
Bulk import is performed by support. Request the current Excel template and provide one row per card with the card name, UID bytes in the required order, the client or fleet contract, the driver and any validity dates. Create all drivers before sending the file. For a larger import, test one card first.
If the attempt is not shown
- Make sure you presented the card to a charger that belongs to the role you currently manage.
- Open Tag authorizations, select All Time and wait until the table has fully loaded.
- If the driver or contract is missing, verify your access and create the driver first.
- When contacting support, include the time, location, charger, client contract and intended driver. Never send a PIN, password or full payment-card data.
