Before starting, open the location and check the price shown for the selected connector and charging method.
Who determines the tariff
The charging-point operator or station owner determines the tariff. Smart Fuel Pass does not own charging stations and does not set their tariffs.
Prices for a registered Smart Fuel Pass user and for an unregistered user paying directly by card may differ. The price shown before the session starts is the final applicable price for that session.
Discounts at a location
If a registered user has a charging discount at a location, it applies to all connectors at that location. The portal shows the full registered-user price and, below it, the percentage discount applied to every tariff component when the final amount is calculated. With a 100% location discount, charging is shown as free and the user does not need to choose a preauthorisation amount.
Preauthorisation
A temporary preauthorisation is only a reservation of the amount selected by the customer until the charging session is settled. If the session is cancelled, the entire reservation is released. If energy is delivered, the session is settled against it up to the reserved amount.
The system monitors the charging point so the running session should not exceed the preauthorisation. If a technical issue, such as lost connectivity to the charger, causes the final amount to exceed it, the excess is charged to the registered user. If the account cannot cover that excess, a debt to Smart Fuel Pass arises and is automatically settled from the next top-up.
If you question the charge
If you have doubts about the correctness of a charge, send Support the date, location, connector, session ID, displayed tariff and a screenshot of both settled and pending transactions.
