An owner or operator of a charging station controls visibility and access at location level. The setting applies to every charger and connector assigned to that location; it is not configured separately on a charger, connector or tariff.
Before saving, confirm that the selected role at the top left is the intended location. A change affects the whole location.
1. In the portal, switch to the required location and open Point of sale profile > Location.
The two relevant fields are EV Location mode and Show on map.
2. Choose the required behaviour
- Public: select Public charging and Show on map = Yes. All Smart Fuel Pass users can find the location on the public map and charge according to its tariff and payment conditions.
- Hidden: select Public charging and Show on map = No. The location is not shown on the public map, but a user can still start charging by identifying a correctly configured charger directly, for example through its QR code or contactless tag (NFC).
- Private: select Private charging only. Show on map is set to No. Only explicitly permitted drivers or client contracts can use the location.
3. Save and test
Select Save. Then verify the location from the intended user account. For a hidden location, test the QR code or contactless tap route; for a private location, test with both an authorised and an unauthorised account.
This setting controls the Smart Fuel Pass map. Publication on a third-party roaming map can also depend on roaming exports and partner synchronisation.
Examples: access and pricing scenarios
These are not separate location modes. Each result is created by combining location visibility, access permissions and discounts.
