This guide is for a company or person who owns or operates a charging station and wants other drivers to use and pay for charging there. It is not the same as a customer account used only to charge your own vehicle.
1. Complete the owner or operator agreement
Apply for the Merchant agreement and provide the requested company and verification documents. A customer-account balance is separate from this agreement. Merchant onboarding with a VAT ID
2. Create the charging location
Create the physical place where the station is installed: name, address, GPS coordinates and access setting. Choose whether it will be public, hidden or private. Create a charging location
3. Add and connect the charger
Add the physical charger in the location. The portal provides connection details and an identifier; the installer enters them in the charger configuration. This technical connection is commonly called OCPP. Connect chargers and create QR codes
4. Configure each connector and price
Each physical socket is a connector. Check its label and technical parameters, then assign the tariff that drivers will see before charging. The owner or operator decides the public price. Configure charger connectors and tariffs
5. Choose how drivers will pay
For QR payment, download the QR code for each connector from the portal, print it and place it on the matching connector. A driver scans it, sees the price and follows the web payment journey with card or mobile wallet. If you also want direct card payment next to the charger, order a physical payment terminal from chargingev.store and have it assigned to the location.
6. Test before opening to the public
Use a separate test customer or phone to verify that the correct connector, price, payment flow, charging start and charging end are all working before you invite drivers.
OCPP, QR code and payment terminal are different things
OCPP is the technical communication between the charger and Smart Fuel Pass. A QR code identifies a particular charger or connector and opens the driver journey. A payment terminal is separate hardware for direct card payment.
