The Smart Fuel Pass outdoor payment terminal lets visitors pay for charging directly at a charging location. The current supplied model is PAX IM30; the final equipment and supported services always follow your order and contract.
What it does
- One terminal can show and control several chargers or connectors at the same location.
- It shows the applicable tariff before payment and lets the driver choose the amount to reserve for charging.
- It can accept payment cards and contactless payment, including a compatible phone or watch.
- A driver can follow an ongoing session using the QR code shown on the terminal. The terminal can also show the session after the driver enters only the last four digits of the card used.
- After charging, the driver can download a receipt or ask for it to be sent by email.
Charging price and temporary reservation
The charging-station owner or operator sets the tariff. Before charging starts, the terminal displays the final tariff and the selected amount is temporarily reserved on the payment card. The final charging price is settled after the session; any unused part of the reservation is released by the central system. A reservation is not an extra fee.
Connection and physical characteristics
The PAX IM30 supports chip-and-PIN and contactless card payments. Depending on the installation, it can connect through Ethernet, Wi-Fi or a mobile-data SIM card. The device has IP55 and IK08 protection ratings and can support an external display. Electrical installation, mounting and cable routing must be performed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and local rules.
Keep payment data safe
Never ask a driver to send a full card number, card security code or card PIN. For a support case, the date, location, connector, session ID and only the last four card digits are normally sufficient.
