Use this checklist when installing a Smart Fuel Pass outdoor payment terminal at a charging location. It covers the operational setup, not electrical work inside the terminal.
Before installation
- Confirm the charging location, the chargers and connectors that the terminal should offer to drivers.
- Arrange power, safe mounting and internet access with a qualified installer. Select Ethernet, Wi-Fi or a mobile-data SIM connection according to the site conditions.
- Make sure an authorised person has access to the Smart Fuel Pass portal and can manage the charging location.
Install and activate
- Mount and connect the terminal in accordance with the manufacturer's manual and local electrical and safety rules.
- Start the terminal and verify that it has an internet connection. If you configure several connections as backup, the documented connection priority is Ethernet, then Wi-Fi, then mobile data.
- At first start, the terminal needs activation by Smart Fuel Pass Support. Provide the charging-location name and only the last four visible digits of the terminal serial number.
- In the portal, open Charging location management (PoS Manager) > Payment terminals. Check that the terminal is assigned to the correct location. Only an authorised manager should view the terminal service PIN.
- In the terminal's service settings, show only the connectors that belong on this terminal. Enable automatic display of newly added connectors only when that is intended for the location.
- Run the network test and make a controlled charging test. Check the displayed tariff, start of the session, QR-code session view and receipt flow.
If something does not work
Do not change the development environment, payment application or card-key settings. If the terminal reports no connection, check the local network, Wi-Fi signal or SIM availability first. Then contact Smart Fuel Pass Support with the location, terminal serial-number ending, terminal message or error code, affected connector and time of the issue.
Security reminder
Keep portal credentials and the terminal service PIN with authorised staff only. Do not send them by email or in a support ticket.
